The Untold Curse

Amruta Dhuke

I think

being strong

is a curse

You carry

the unbearable

darkest and deepest

pain

all alone

You scramble

the pain like

a normal paper and

forcefully

throw it in your

invisible dustbin

hoping for it to be

silent and to

disappear

But sometimes

it doesn’t.

Sometimes

the pain wants to

get free from the

tight container

It moves

hastily

rapidly

endlessly

all day and night

Then, the powerful

pressure inside

slowly

makes you

unstable

You secretly

become

scared, nervous

anxious, in the

massive swarms of

unaware people

around

You need to

cry

wail

scream

but you are

strong

You keep all the mess

inside

yourself

quietly

And don’t let

the overfilled

container

break

You suffer and suffer

constantly

and still dare to

carry it all around

instead.
