Welcome to the fifth issue of Scribere! This edition marks the one-year anniversary of Scribere -- hooray! Recently, we were given the amazing opportunity to hold a series of writing workshops for youth, thanks to a grant we received from Youth Services of America and Disney. The response was overwhelming, with almost 60 students aged 8-18 signing up to participate!

     This issue is Part One of two issues that will be devoted to publishing the writing of youth who participated in these workshops. Included in this issue are the pieces submitted by teens. These stories tell of elation, heartbreak, social anxiety, and one even answering the age-old question, "What's in a name?" Part Two, which will be published over the summer, will include pieces written by 3rd-5th graders.
